6A2 flat recessed grinding wheel with cubic boron nitride for rough sharpening and preparation of steel flat surfaces.
Designed for HSS, tool steel and other ferrous materials.

Where it is actually used:

Used for flat surface grinding and sharpening where higher material removal is required.
Typical applications include:

• Initial grinding of HSS inserts and flat tool surfaces
• Preparation before B107 → B91 sequence
• Tool reconditioning and maintenance

The recessed design provides clearance and stable access to flat surfaces.

What it actually does:

Aggressive material removal with stable geometry formation.
Quickly removes material and establishes flat reference surface.

Grain size (B126 ≈ 125/106 μm):

• Very high stock removal rate
• Typical Ra ~ 0.8–1.5 μm
• Leaves visible and deep grinding marks

CBN (cBN1):

• Optimized for steel and ferrous materials
• High thermal stability
• Maintains cutting ability at elevated temperatures
• Long tool life in steel grinding

In practice:

This is a primary roughing wheel for steel flat surfaces.
Used before B107 → B91 → B64 sequence.
Focus is fast material removal and geometry setup.
