4B2 dish grinding wheel for extreme rough sharpening and preparation of tool face surfaces.
Designed for carbide and other hard brittle materials.

Where it is actually used:

Used for face grinding and sharpening at the earliest machining stage where maximum material removal is required.
Typical applications include:

• Initial face grinding of tools from solid carbide
• Heavy reconditioning of worn cutting tools
• Bulk material removal before D181 → D151 sequence

The dish shape provides accurate contact on flat and angular surfaces.

What it actually does:

Maximum material removal with minimal control of surface quality.
Rapidly removes large volumes of material and establishes initial flat geometry.

Grain size (D213 ≈ 212/180 μm):

• Extreme stock removal rate
• Typical Ra ~ 2.0–4.0 μm
• Leaves very rough surface with deep scratches

In practice:

This is a bulk removal wheel.
Used as the first step before D181 → D151 → D126 sequence.
Focus is maximum productivity, not precision.
