6A2 flat recessed grinding wheel with cubic boron nitride for sharpening and grinding of steel flat surfaces.
Designed for HSS, tool steel and other ferrous materials.

Where it is actually used:

Used for flat surface grinding and sharpening of steel tools.
Typical applications include:

• Sharpening of HSS inserts and flat tool surfaces
• Face grinding of milling cutters and reamers
• Tool maintenance and reconditioning

The recessed design provides clearance and stable access to flat surfaces.

What it actually does:

Productive material removal with controlled geometry formation.
Prepares flat surfaces for finer grinding stages.

Grain size (B107 ≈ 106/90 μm):

• High stock removal rate
• Typical Ra ~ 0.6–1.2 μm
• Leaves visible grinding marks

CBN (cBN1):

• Optimized for steel and ferrous materials
• High thermal stability
• Maintains cutting ability at high temperatures

In practice:

This is a rough / semi-finish wheel for steel flat surfaces.
Used before B91 → B64 → B46 sequence.
