Designed for carbide inserts, cutting tools and technical glass.

Where it is actually used:

Used for flat surface grinding and insert sharpening where higher material removal is required.
Typical applications include:

• Initial grinding of carbide inserts and indexable tools
• Preparation of flat surfaces before D91 → M63 sequence
• Grinding of technical glass and brittle materials

The recessed design provides clearance and stable access to flat surfaces.

What it actually does:

Aggressive material removal with basic geometry control.
Quickly removes material and establishes flat reference surface.

Grain size (D107 ≈ 100/80 μm):

• High stock removal rate
• Typical Ra ~ 0.6–1.2 μm
• Leaves visible and deeper grinding marks

In practice:

This is a primary roughing wheel.
Used before D91 → M63 → M40 sequence.
Focus is fast material removal and flatness setup.
