4B2 dish grinding wheel for sharpening and preparation of tool face surfaces.
Designed for carbide and other hard brittle materials.

Where it is actually used:

Used for face grinding and sharpening at transition stage between rough and finishing.
Typical applications include:

• Face grinding of end mills and milling cutters after rough grinding
• Sharpening of carbide saw blades
• Preparation of reamers before micron finishing sequence

The dish shape provides accurate contact on flat and angular surfaces.

What it actually does:

Moderate material removal with initial surface stabilization.
Removes marks from D91 / D107 and prepares surface for micron sequence.

Grain size (M40 ≈ 40/28 μm):

• Higher stock removal than fine micron grits
• Typical Ra ~ 0.20–0.40 μm
• Transition step before M25 → M20 sequence

In practice:

This is a transition wheel.
Used after rough grinding and before M25.
Focus is stabilizing geometry and preparing for finishing.
