Short Description
1A1 Diamond Grinding Wheel – FEPA M20 (20/14 μm) | B2-01 Bond
Straight diamond wheel (1A1) for semi-finish and fine grinding.
Designed for carbide, ceramics and other hard brittle materials.
What it actually does:
Semi-finishing with noticeable stock removal and controlled surface quality.
More aggressive than M16, used to prepare surface before fine finishing.
Grain size (M20 ≈ 20/14 μm):
Fine grit at the boundary of semi-finish and finish.
- Removes material faster than M16/M10
- Typical Ra ~ 0.06–0.15 μm
- Good balance between productivity and surface quality
More tolerant to feed, but still not for rough grinding.
Bond (B2-01):
- Self-sharpening
- Reduced heat generation
- Stable cutting behavior
- Designed for semi-finish and finish operations
In practice:
This is a pre-finish wheel.
Used after rough grinding to prepare geometry before M16 or M10.
Works best after D46 → D25 sequence.
Specification:
- Type: 1A1 (straight)
- Abrasive: Synthetic diamond (АСН)
- Grit: FEPA M20 ≈ 20/14 μm
- Bond: B2-01 (resin-based)
- Concentration: 100%
- Body: P (pressed composite)
(Aluminum or Steel on request)
Concentration 100%:
- High cutting stability
- Consistent performance
- Longer wheel life
- Note: may load if overloaded
Body type (P):
- Lightweight construction
- Good vibration damping
- Improves surface consistency
- Limit: less rigid than steel
Use for:
- Carbide semi-finishing
- Geometry preparation
- Pre-finishing before M16/M10
- Ceramics / glass
Do not use for:
- Steel
- Heavy rough grinding
- Aggressive unstable feeds
