Short Description
1A1 Diamond Grinding Wheel – FEPA M16 (14/10 μm) | B2-01 Bond
Straight diamond wheel (1A1) for fine finishing and pre-polishing.
Designed for carbide, ceramics and other hard brittle materials.
What it actually does:
Fine finishing with slight stock removal and good surface quality.
More aggressive than M10, but still focused on finish, not roughing.
Grain size (M16 ≈ 14/10 μm):
Fine micron powder between semi-finish and finish.
- Removes small amount of material while improving surface
- Typical Ra ~ 0.04–0.10 μm
- Good balance between cutting ability and finish
More forgiving than M10, but still requires stable setup.
Bond (B2-01):
- Self-sharpening
- Low heat generation
- Clean, controlled cutting
- Optimized for fine and finish grinding
In practice:
This is a transition wheel between semi-finish and final finish.
Often used before M10 or as a final step when ultra-low Ra is not required.
Works best after D46 → D25 sequence.
Specification:
- Type: 1A1 (straight)
- Abrasive: Synthetic diamond (АСН)
- Grit: FEPA M16 ≈ 14/10 μm
- Bond: B2-01 (resin-based)
- Concentration: 100%
- Body: P (pressed composite)
(Aluminum or Steel on request)
Concentration 100%:
- Stable cutting behavior
- Consistent surface finish
- Longer tool life
- Note: may load under high pressure
Body type (P):
- Lightweight design
- Good vibration damping
- Improves surface quality
- Limit: lower rigidity vs steel
Use for:
- Carbide tool finishing
- Pre-polishing
- Edge preparation
- Ceramics / glass
Do not use for:
- Steel
